MLS Laser therapy is a completely safe, non-invasive and painless method of managing acute or chronic pain and inflammation
This non-invasive, painless, and highly effective therapy has been a game-changer in the management of injuries and pain.
MLS® Laser Therapy is completely safe. Forget those ‘James Bond’ images of laser! MLS® is non-thermal (eg not hot!). Laser therapy is totally painless, non invasive and makes a great alternative to anti-inflammatory drugs.
2. How many sessions will I need?
Laser therapy usually requires a course of treatments, expect to need 3-6 sessions for the best results. Some people need a few more depending on the cause of their issue and other individual factors.
3. Will I notice a difference immediately?
Some people notice a difference straight away, others take a bit longer and may need a few sessions before changes are noted. If you don’t notice a difference after 1 or 2 sessions, it doesn’t mean it’s not working for you! Each laser treatment builds upon the last one to boost the effect (known as a cumulative effect). Stick with it to complete the full course your clinician has recommended to benefit from the full effects. If you stop after only 1 or 2 sessions, you may have wasted your time and money by giving up too soon!
4. How often do I need to come in for treatment?
Because of the cumulative effect of laser, we don’t want to leave it too long between your treatments. We recommend a minimum of once a week! Your clinician will advise the best course of action according to your individual condition. Try not to miss any of your appointments!
5. Do I need to do anything else, as well as the laser treatment?
Your clinician will have done a thorough assessment before giving you any treatment plan. This plan will most likely involve additional elements such as exercises, stretches, advice on activities (what to do/not to do) etc. You must follow ALL the advice given by your clinician to get yourself better.
6. What should I wear?
You need to be able to expose the skin for laser treatment, so please wear something you feel comfortable in to expose the area. We will always maintain your dignity with towels etc.
Laser Therapy is available at our clinics in Newcastle, Gateshead and Sunderland.
