We run courses with small class numbers to allow maximum hands on time and tutoring feedback.

Location : We use both the Low Fell clinic and our Sunderland clinic throughout the course. Both have free car parking sites.

Cost : £950

Time Frame: 1 weekend per month over 5 months plus Exam

Sports Massage Level 3

This qualification is aimed at individuals who would like to gain new knowledge, skills and techniques to provide treatments for sports injuries and help improve an athlete’s performance through pre and post event massage. The qualification will provide beginners exceptional hands on experience where you will learn from Elite Sports Physios who are leaders in sports physio and massage provision at World class events. Who the Course is for

It is recommended that learners should have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSE’s at grade A*-C prior to commencing the ITEC Level 3 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy; however, exemptions may be made for adult returners with experience in the workplace

Course Content

In this qualification learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of the theory underpinning the practise of Sports Massage Therapy, including functional anatomy and physiology, nutrition, classification of sports injuries and the stages of healing. It will also provide learners with the understanding, skills and techniques to plan, prepare for and apply a range of sports massage methods to uninjured clients. Learners will also develop the skills to evaluate massage strategies and methods to inform on future treatments. There is a large practical component and students will be expected to gain practical experience outside of the course setting.

We understand childcare and current commitments can make it difficult to attend courses, we have therefore spread out the course to allow you time to study at your own pace with plenty of opportunities to check in with our lecturers with any questions. Our Course has a strong focus on taught practical components, you must attend the face to face sessions. So the dates allocated are essential for you to attend.

Assessment Methods

The assessment for the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage includes an externally set and marked multiple-choice test, external verification of the internally assessed case studies, and an externally set and externally marked practical examination. Candidates must achieve a pass grade or above in all elements of the qualification to be awarded the Diploma

Qualifications Gained

If you successfully complete the course you will gain an ITEC/VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage. With the correct insurance this allows you to start working.

Progression Opportunities

If you were interested in continuing your studies, you may be interested in the Level 4 Sports Massage course provided by The Performance Clinic. Alternatively you may choose to study other health and exercise related qualifications to compliment your massage qualifications.
